Penn Hillel celebrated the Dedication of the Anna Shotel Dubin and Irwin Dubin Auditorium with a gala reception on March 26, 2009. Present for the celebration were Mrs. Anna Dubin and her family who celebrated along with 150 students, Penn faculty, staff, and community supporters. This incredibly meaningful and generous gift marked the completion of The Campaign to Build Steinhardt Hall.
The evening included performances by Penn Jazz and the Shabbatones. Speakers, including student leaders JJ Katz and Orly May, addressed the importance of Penn Hillel and the centrality of Steinhardt Hall, along with the Shotel Dubin Auditorium, in the life of both the Jewish community and the larger Penn community.
Prior to the dedication, the Penn Hillel Board of Overseers and the Hillel of Greater Philadelphia Board toasted Edwin Berkowitz, chairman of the building committee to build Steinhardt Hall.
