The Conservative Jewish Community at Penn can only meet it goals with your help. There are a number of specific ways that we could use your help which are outlined below, but we also welcome general gifts.

Fall and Spring Scholar in Residence

In the fall, we will bring Ebn Leader, professor at Boston Hebrew College and founder of the Leader Minyan, to facilitate a Shabbat devoted to the art and power of prayer. Ebn will teach us new songs, niggun'im (tunes) and help our student leaders develop more effective prayer leading styles. In the spring, we will bring a scholar to facilitate a shabbaton of learning and discussion on a hot topic that students will select.

Shabbaton

Students will develop and plan a shabbaton away from Penn for one weekend. The chance to leave all of the clutter of our college lives, and go away to explore our Judaism in a "fully contextualized" Jewish experience is something that will enrich our lives and the community. We would reach out to students who are connected to the Ramah system to help plan this event.

New Siddur'im (Prayer Books)

Our current siddur'im are falling apart and outdated. The new edition of "Sim Shalom" is not only more aesthetically appealing, but it also includes prayers that were omitted from the previous edition.
Please make your checks payable to Penn Hillel and write CJC Fund in the memo. You can send them to the attention of:
