The Jewish Renaissance Project (JRP)'s cutting edge methods are reaching more students than ever this year. Breaking the mold of just about every program and initiative on campus, JRP is not a club for students to join; rather, JRP is all about decentralizing and personalizing Jewish experiences. By working with over 60 new interns and student leaders, JRP supports networks of friends who create social, intellectual, political and spiritual events that focus on the particular issues that matter for different social networks. This method enables Jewish students all over campus – in fraternity and sorority houses, College Houses, off-campus apartments, and everywhere inbetween – to participate in vibrate Jewish experiences and communities that are designed with their specific needs in mind. In the first few weeks of school, JRP has been all over campus, from tables on Locust Walk to Rosh Hashanah meals in fraternity houses. Adding to the numerous Jewish experiences that JRP interns create, JRP's very own Shabbat 2.0 also aims to bring a diverse group of students together for campus-based Shabbat celebrations. The kick-off Shabbat 2.0: A Taste of Philly, held in a main space on campus, introduced creative ideas and non-traditional foods for dinner in a vibrant and informal way that encouraged students to consider different interpretations of the meaning of Shabbat.
