Ariel Nissan

Ariel is thrilled to step into the role of Director of GradHillel at Penn after four wonderful years working with undergraduate students at Penn Hillel. Originally from North Carolina and with Israeli roots, she’s fallen in love with both the city of Philadelphia and the diverse Penn community.

She earned her B.A. in Advertising/Public Relations and Religious Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. In her previous role as Director of Engagement at Penn Hillel, Ariel facilitated Jewish Learning Fellowships, oversaw the undergraduate engagement internship, and staffed immersive experiences and trips abroad.

Now, she’s excited to grow the GradHillel at Penn program and support graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, and postdocs as they explore and shape their Jewish lives at Penn. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to pluralism and open dialogue.

Ariel speaks Hebrew fluently and is always happy to help you practice. Outside of Hillel, you can find her reading in Hawthorne Park, discovering new coffee shops, or thrifting her way through Philly.
